I t’s been awhile since I’ve doing an outgoing mail art post. FOUR MONTHS to be exact. While I haven’t been posting photos of my mail, though, it’s definitely still been happening which means…lucky you! You are about to see a bucketload of envelopes and cards that have departed from the Nixon Peterson household in the past several months!

There were some thank you notes that were sent…

(That envelope above was sent to a super nice member at one of the golf courses Bobby works at – I found a beautiful magazine article about various golf courses and their layouts, which made for the perfect envelope.)

There were some “you are awesome and I’m glad you’re in my life” notes…

There was a note of condolence – always so sad but so important.

There were some notes of encouragement and packages filled with inside jokes and congratulations…

There were some pieces of mail to celebrate big milestones…

Quite some time ago, I found these adorable baby animal puzzles in the Target dollar bins. I wasn’t quite sure how I would put them to use, but I snapped them up because things with baby animals are always good to have on hand. Finally, inspiration struck and I decided to use them as big greeting cards.

The animals said their two cents on the front…

And I said my two cents on the back…

Before I sent it, I scrambled up all the pieces and put the big jumble into a large envelope.

I loved how this turned out so much that I decided to do it twice.

(And now I wish I had bought dozens of these puzzles to do this many, many times. Alas, they’re limited edition pieces.)

There were plenty of birthdays to be celebrated…

And there were some flashy, big bursts of watercolors.

Yes siree, you can never go wrong with mail.

I hope you’ll carve out some time this week to write some of your own!
